1. Who is responsible for your data

I am the controller of the personal data described in this policy, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data I collect and why

Contact form and email

When you write to me through the contact form or by email, I receive the details you give: your name, email address, the service you are interested in, and your message.

• Purpose: to reply to your request and, where relevant, to take steps at your request before a service is agreed.
• Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and my legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• How long I keep it: for as long as needed to answer you and, if we work together, for the duration of the service and the periods required by law. If no service follows, I delete the correspondence within 12 months.

Coaching and Portuguese lessons

Personal data of clients and students (for example session notes, level assessments, scheduling and invoicing details) is handled under the agreements and informed-consent statements that you sign when you start a service. Those documents describe what is collected and why. Coaching sessions are confidential.

Website visits

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Like any website, the hosting provider automatically processes technical data needed to deliver the pages and keep the site secure (such as IP address, browser type and time of request).

3. Who receives your data

I use a small number of service providers who process data on my behalf:

• Hosting: Vercel (serves the website).
• Email: Zoho Mail (hosts the mailbox that receives your messages).
• Domain: Namecheap (domain registration; does not receive visitor data).

I do not sell your data and I do not share it for advertising. Providers may process data outside the EU/EEA; when that happens, the transfer relies on a safeguard required by the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

4. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, correct it, ask for it to be erased, restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email mariana.macedo@about-eu.com. I will reply within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl), or with the authority in your own country.

5. Children

This website is not directed at children. Lessons for minors are only arranged with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, as set out in the informed-consent statement.

6. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
